The Story

I'm Donovan Smith, a professional chef, aspiring food manufacturer, and restaurateur. On December 29th, 2021, I moved from The Bahamas to Toronto, embarking on a journey with my wife Raven and our 3-year-old daughter Sarai to fulfill the dream of building a global Modern Caribbean Comfort Food Brand.

I am thrilled to announce that we are opening our first location on July 20th, 2024, at Yorkdale Mall, the 4th largest mall in Canada, located in Toronto, Ontario.

    My passion lies in inventing new modern Caribbean comfort food, and I've been sharing my culinary creations through Kitchenking101. It's not just a platform for recipes; it's a community that has grown beyond my expectations, with over 220,000 thousand followers and counting collectively. The enthusiasm for the unique fusions and flavors has been truly overwhelming.The burning question on everyone's mind is, "Where is the location?" Starting a global restaurant brand  and global food manufacturing company, however, comes with significant costs, and I'm currently navigating this venture solo. To kickstart the process of bringing this dream to life, I'm seeking support from my KitchenKing family.
